St. Lucia weather is luxurious most of the year, but anyone planning a vacation there will find that some months are better than others.

St. Lucia is medium in popularity among Caribbean destinations. It attracts similar numbers of both cruise visitors and long-term vacationers (a week or more) because of its beautiful green hills and landscapes to go with white sand beaches.

Anyone planning to travel to St. Lucia will find that the monthly high temperatures average in the mid-80s Fahrenheit with only a few degrees of variation throughout the year. The average low temperatures hover around the mid-70s.

But it's the rainfall that determines the popularity of each month with visitors. St. Lucia has a dry season that lasts from February through May. It has a rainy season from June until December.

The island receives about 50 inches of rain each year, with the lowest months being in the spring and the heaviest in September and October during the worst weather of the annual hurricane season.

The number of "rain days" each month varies as well from a low of 12 in April to a high of at least 20 days from July through November.

As a result of the rain, St. Lucia usually sees the largest number of vacationers from December through May, a moderate number in the summer and a sharp decrease in September and October.

Anyone planning to travel to St. Lucia will increase their chances of good weather by going in the first half of the year. They should avoid early fall if at all possible.
