This was the trip that virtually persuaded me to run away from home...no actually, after just 4 days at this island Shangri la, I was prepared to join a Caribbean Dance troupe and settle into my personal private shed in this quiet fishing community. The amazing sea perspectives, intriguing cuisine, fun filled days of adventures, and lazy afternoons by the pool at the Coconut Bay Resort St Lucia tempted me daily to chuck away town life for good. I'd never been so spoiled, never felt so untroubled, I was 100 pc fully spoiled and I loved each minute of it.

For me, this escapade started good and got gradually better with each passing day. After being bumped up to top class on check in at the airfield, the six-hour flight from the Midwest looked painless. On arrival I was met with a wonderful drink of island brewed Coconut Rum served in a genuine coconut to enjoy while reception checked me into my room.

Straight after, I was invited to tour the Coconut Bay Resort St Lucia, which to my constant surprise, were much bigger than I was expecting. I realized that the property hosts tennis and basketball courts, a hiking trail, and complete fitness center for those more inclined athletically and a kid's area suitably called the Kidz Club that lists an array of activities for youngsters. Additionally, Coconut Bay Resort St Lucia features 2 specialty eateries : Silk, offering Asian Cuisine, and Bellagio Italian, a la carte dining, as well as Coconut Walk, a buffet-style eatery, a chilled beachside griddle, three bars, and a swim-up pool bar. We sampled each cafe and my fave by miles was Silk, though I ate daily at the beachside griddle due to convenience. The layout of the Coconut Bay Resort St Lucia features 2 seemingly different worlds inside one property.

Guestrooms were split into 2 separate wings : Families stay in rooms nearer to all of the action of the Coco land Water Park and Kids Klub, while the wing for adults is situated near the Kai Mer Spa and adult-only area, complete with cabana beds and hammocks.

The design allows for adults to enjoy quiet time without children, and for families to pass some time together and away while kids and kids visit their own supervised areas.
